Jonathan Lavine serves as Co-Managing Partner of Bain Capital and Chief Investment Officer of Bain Capital Credit, previously known as Sankaty Advisors. Bain Capital Credit is the fixed income and credit affiliate of Bain Capital, one of the world's leading private, alternative asset management firms. Lavine also chairs Bain Capital Credit’s Risk & Oversight Committee with overall responsibility for strategy, portfolio management and risk.
Jonathan Lavine received a B.A., Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Columbia College and was a 2008 recipient of Columbia’s John Jay Award for distinguished professional achievement. He also earned an M.B.A., with Distinction, from Harvard Business School. Along with his wife Jeannie, Jonathan Lavine remains very involved with Harvard through the School of Public Health.
An active participant in charitable organizations, Mr. Lavine is a member of the Boards of the Dana Hall School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University, Children’s Hospital Trust, Horizons for Homeless Children and Opportunity Nation. He is City Year’s National Board of Trustees Chair and was honored in 2014 by the Kraft Center at Columbia/Barnard Hillel with the Gershom Mendel Seixas Award for outstanding contributions to Jewish life.

On December 5, 2012, Jonathan Lavine was honored by the Anti-Defamation League with the Distinguished Community Service Award.
Mr. Lavine is a Member of the Board at ServiceNation, which is a campaign of Be The Change, Inc., where he is also a Board Member. At the 12th annual Friends of Service Awards, hosted by Voices for National Service, Jonathan was honored with the Citizen Service Award for investing in the civic health of the nation and for being a champion for national service.
