University of Phoenix Volunteer Leader Award: Make A Nomination
Subscribe to the Blog RSS FeedIn honor of the upcoming one-year anniversary of the passage of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, the University of Phoenix and the HandsOn Network are working together to organize a contest to honor the volunteer whose work has done the most to further and honor Senator Kennedy’s legacy of promoting volunteerism and the ideal of service across the nation.
Here is what these organizations have to say about the University Of Phoenix Volunteer Leader Award:
“Volunteer leaders will be nominated by the public and finalists will be selected by a diverse panel of judges and honored during National Volunteer Week. To be eligible for this award, nominees must have been engaged in service as a volunteer leader for at least two years and made a great impact in the community.”
Wait! It gets better;
"Nine of the 10 finalists will be awarded $10,000 to donate to the nonprofit organizations of their choice. The top honoree will receive $15,000 to donate and will be recognized at the first ever L.E.A.D. Summit presented by University of Phoenix and HandsOn Network in
Washington D.C. on April 20th at the Newseum.”
The opportunity to nominate a Volunteer Leader begins today, and continues through March 10. So if you know someone (or two, or three) who deserves special recognition for the work they are doing and the spirit of service they are exemplifying, nominate away.
