Hey, Bloggers! “Blog Action Day” (Today) Is Your Day To Grab The World’s Attention
Subscribe to the Blog RSS FeedWhat the heck is Blog Action Day, you might ask? Well, it's a very cool idea that goes like this (according to the website):
Blog Action Day is an annual event held every October 15 that unites the world’s bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day with the aim of sparking discussion around an issue of global importance. Blog Action Day 2009 will be one of the largest-ever social change events on the web.
It started in 2007, when more than 20,000 bloggers wrote about the environment on October 15, and so far this year (under the auspices of Change.org) nearly 9,000 blogs with more than 12 million readers have agreed to write today about climate change (you can see which blogs are participating here, and which organizations are partnering with Blog Action Day 2009 here).

So if you care about the, um, FUTURE OF THE PLANET, and have a blog, this is the day to get involved and post about climate change. You can register your blog here, and grab all the badges you could want here. There is also an excellent Take Action page, where you and your readers can send a message on climate change.
We can all moan about the garbage and distraction that so many blogs throw into our culture. This is one way to try to take over the blogosphere for positive change and we hope it helps get the world and its leaders to pay serious attention to a serious issue.
