Calling All Service Heroes: Are You Ready For Primetime?

Subscribe to the Blog RSS Feed

Are you a service hero? Do you know someone who is? We are in search of heroes because the Entertainment Industry Foundation plans to feature service and the inspired citizens who make it work across the broadcast spectrum next month (week of Oct. 19). Service will be written into TV shows, and news and talk shows will be highlighting the work of service heroes (details of the EIF initiative are here). That's where you come in. We would like you to tell us your story, or tell the story of someone you know who is a service superstar, on our website. We will pass them on to EIF, and they will select some heroes to feature on major talk and news shows.

In addition to submitting your story, please help us spread the word (kudos to ServiceNation partner Equal Justice Works for taking the lead, here).

EIF won't only be featuring the theme of service all week. They have also launched a campaign called IParticipate, to encourage citizens to get involved in creating service events and to volunteer for service projects. You can learn lots more on the IParticipate blog, follow the campaign on Twitter, and check out the IParticipate YouTube channel.

These guys know what they are doing, naturally. Here is the great video promo for IParticipate.

And here is an IParticipate PSA with Blythe Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow, talking about the connection between service and well-being.
