A Video To Inspire Volunteerism

Subscribe to the Blog RSS Feed

One of the nice things about service is that it moves people to share their experiences and document the power of working for something greater than one's self. That often means they make videos, many of which are really good. And sometimes they even send them to us, which of course we love because then we can share them with you.

The latest and greatest to hit our e-mail box came via John Chase, of M.U.S.I.C (Musicians United For Songs In The Classroom, Inc), who sent us a PSA On Volunteerism made by one of his public policy students. We cued it up, and it rocks (literally, it's set to "All These Things That I have Done," by The Killers).

The student's name is Allen Wengert, and he is a senior at Edmeston Central School in a public policy course that is offered through Syracuse University's Project Advance. Here is what Allen had to say about the PSA:

"The video was made for a PSA project for a public policy course. I've always been interested in visual media and am set to go to college for it. I think visuals are a great way to communicate to others and help raise awareness of certain issues. I hope people will see this video and become inspired to help people out, no matter how big or small the action."

And here is the video. Crank it up, and if you like it, share it. We need more PSAs like this.
